The Forge wikidata project is a collection of facts related to forges (about 20 of them as of today). It is not a static set and keeps evolving as new features are implemented. To keep up with this evolution, it would be useful to monitor (on a monthly basis?) each forge releases and roadmaps.
Each new feature should be evaluated to figure out if and how it needs to be represented in F3 to ensure data portability. One example is the CI: twenty years ago it was considered external to a forge and nowadays it is more tightly integrated.
The sources from which features can be collected are:
- GitHub enterprise announcements and public roadmap
- GitLab with the RSS Feed of the Blog and the changelog
- Heptapod
- Forgejo
- Gitea
- FOSSIL
- Apache Allura
- SourceHut
There are other forges as well but they are either not so active that they deserve monitoring or still in their early development stages.
