GitHub spam(or opportunities?)

My email address is publicly visible on GitHub and all my code, too, is public on my GitHub profile. This combination has led to some interesting, targeted spam:

Hello,

I wanted to introduce you to a new way to monetize your work and
contribution to the open-source projects you love the most.

I have been looking at your GitHub contributions, I think your
repositories would be of great value for companies if they have a
support plan that guarantees the resolution of issues if there are
any. You can learn more about it here
[https://14JYA.trk.elasticemail.com/tracking/click?d=<redacted-tracking-crap>], or if you have any
questions please feel free to reach out to me.

Looking forward to seeing you as a member of PieceX, the best
marketplace for software source code.

Spam, IMHO.

It is spam in my opinion too. I’m not clicking on any links that were in the email, but some recipients might view such emails as job opportunities.

The service’s approach is too vulgar for my taste, but it is a very creative idea regardless: they have access to credible, high quality data through a person’s heatmap and FOSS contributions, that are publicly available which they’ve used to appeal to employer. The employee gets to choose from field tested, high quality coders and the ciders get tailor made job offers that come searching for them, quite ingenious IMO.

I wonder what other creative ideas can be derived from forges and the data they hold, and I wonder how they’d translate to the fedi.
