A chat room was created about a year ago for forgefriends. There never were much discussions there though. In addition it turns out most people are reluctant to create an account for the purpose of chatting. And there does not seem to be a huge momentum for the underlying software (mattermost) to be federated anytime soon.
Today @realaravinth was kind enough to offer that forgefriends shares the forgeflux chatroom on matrix. I therefore propose the following:
- Deprecate and archive the current chat room
- Change the chat link of the forgefriends.org home page to matrix instead instead
If there is no objection within two weeks, I will take action accordingly.
