mCaptcha - Open Technology Fund grant application - July 2022

Received this email today requesting more information:

Dear Aravinth Manivannan,

Your application has been reviewed and the outcome is: More information requested

Hello,
Upon evaluation of your proposal, we have decided to solicit more information from you before making a determination. We have been reviewing many applications and appreciate your patience throughout this process.
At the end of this message, we have provided feedback from our determination for your review. We would be grateful if you could submit your responses by Friday January 13, but please let us know if you require additional time.
Instructions for responding to feedback:

Click the edit icon in the upper right of the submission details tab. This will allow you to directly edit your proposal with the information requested. Editing your proposal directly is important so subsequent reviewers can access the most up-to-date information in one place.

You do not need to highlight your edits or include the questions/feedback from OTF in your edits (OTF is able to see edits to proposals).

If you have comments that don’t fit into the proposal, you may include them in the Communications tab. You’re also welcome to attach documents with additional details, such as a CV, reports (recent or not yet published), letters of support, and/or white papers/concept notes.

We very much look forward to the discussion.
Feedback:
OTF reviewers are grateful for your thoughtful and detailed proposal, but would like to seek clarity on a number of aspects before making a decision on whether to advance it to the next stage of the review process.
Please would you be able to respond to the following queries, and incorporate your responses directly into your proposal:

Reviewers would like to see a more detailed, longer-term roadmap for mCaptcha, including detail on how you see it being adopted by larger and more popular sites and platforms;

Within this response, provide some examples of the kinds of sites and platforms you anticipate adopting mCaptcha in the future;

Clearly explain how your proposed activities fit together within your longer-term roadmap, and how they contribute to mCaptcha's development;

Explain the factors you see as the prerequisites for adoption by popular sites and platforms. Consider if there are non-technical activities that need to be undertaken in order to encourage adoption, such as communications, promotion and engagement activities, and discuss whether further resources need to be allocated to those efforts;

Reviewers thought that the proposed budget is limited for achieving the proposed objectives. We would encourage you to review your rates to ensure they are sufficient, and to consider bringing on additional paid personnel to support with the proposed effort;

Provide a budget attachment using OTF's budget template. We will share this template with you via a separate email shortly.

Thank you, and we look forward to receiving your responses in the new year!

The OTF application objectives contains identical objectives to the NLnet grant, so I’m going to request to be taken off of the program.
